What is FIRST 5 Service Corps?
FIRST 5 Service Corps is part of a statewide program started in 2001 administered by FIRST 5 Santa Clara County. FIRST 5 Santa Clara County utilizes funds generated by California Proposition 10 to promote, support and improve early childhood development for children prenatal through age 5 and their families.
What is an AmeriCorps Member?
AmeriCorps*State and National is part of a federally funded service initiative organized by the Corporation for National and Community Service in which individuals help communities meet specific needs through service. AmeriCorps members provide full-time service to the community. FIRST 5 members focus on community outreach and provide on-going support for FIRST 5 programs, activities and services for children and families.

Service Term
Members serve a total of 1700 hours in eleven-months and an average of 38 hours per week.
